Zearn Steps

1. Make sure you have your checklist.
2. Make sure you have your notes and homework before Zearning a lesson or Z Squad.
3. Use your notes to follow along on the math chat.
4. Once you have finished the lesson, complete the homework.
5. After the homework is finished, go to the back of the class and get the self-check homework notebook to check your homework. This must be done with a pen.
6. Then take the checked homework and checklist to Mrs. Rojas. Then you will decide if you are ready for the checkpoint. Make sure you put your homework and checklist back into your binder.
7. Once you do the checkpoint, turn it in to the black bin. 
8. Then go to the red crate, find your next lesson, and get the notes and homework out of the folder.

* You ONLY go to the red crate after completing and turning in a checkpoint.
* You cannot Zearn without notes/homework pages.

MAP Testing

On Wednesday September 9th and Friday September 11th, your child will take tests called Measures of Academic Progress^® (MAP^®). We give students MAP tests to determine your child’s instructional level and to measure academic growth throughout the school year, and from year to year in the areas of Reading and Math. Your child will take the tests on a computer. 

We are truly excited to continue focusing on every child’s individual growth and achievement. Partnering to help all kids learn, parents and teachers can have a profound positive effect on the lives of our children.

Headphones

If your child has not yet brought in their personal headphones or earbuds, please make sure they do so this week. We have begun Zearn and BlendSpace, both of these apps require headphones.  Thanks so much!

1.  Don't forget to remind your students to bring their blanket or towel to sit on in the grass for the Brass Quintet concert/house ceremony.

2. Please make sure your child has headphones. They are necessary for the transition into Blended Space and Zearn.
